Choosing multi-branch Ayurveda software: a buyer's checklist
Running more than one location changes what you need from software. Use this checklist to separate the platforms that scale from the ones that don't.
A single clinic can get by on almost anything. A group can't. The moment you run more than one location, the questions change: Can I see all branches at once? Can I stop a receptionist in one branch from seeing another? Do I have to set everything up again for each new location? Here's what to check before you commit.
One patient index across branches
A patient who visits two branches should be one patient, not two records. Ask whether the platform maintains a single master patient index across the group — and how it prevents duplicates.
Branch-level access control
Staff should see and act only within their branch, while owners and group admins see everything. Confirm that access is genuinely branch-scoped, not just a reporting filter.
Set up once, not once per branch
- Can master data — items, services, templates — be shared across branches?
- Can a branch override what it needs to without breaking the group setup?
- How long does it take to bring a new branch online?
Group-wide analytics and branch comparison
The reason to run one platform is to see the whole group on one set of numbers. Look for per-branch views, branch comparison, and a consolidated group view — not spreadsheets stitched together after month-end.
If you can't compare two branches on the same screen, you don't have multi-branch software. You have several single-branch installs.
Ayurveda-native, still
Everything that mattered at one clinic still matters across a group: Prakriti and Vikriti, Panchakarma packages, classical medicine, package billing. Multi-branch capability is worthless if the clinical core doesn't fit Ayurveda.
Migration and support
Finally, ask how your existing data comes across, how staff are trained, and who supports you at go-live. A platform that scales technically but leaves you alone at rollout will still fail in practice.
